Setting the Remote Control to Operate a TV 27

Your VCR remote control may operate your TV. Follow these steps to set the remote control code.

Point the remote control at your TV. Press the TV but- ton, then press the POWER button. If your TV turns on or off, try the CH(annel) 8/9 buttons. If your remote control oper- ates the TV, you’re finished. If your TV doesn’t turn on or off, or if the CH(annel) 8/9 buttons don’t work, go to step 2.

Find the brand of your TV on the list below, and remem- ber the two-digit number beside it.

While you press and hold the TV button, use two Number buttons to enter the two-digit code for your TV. For example, if you have a Zenith TV, press Number buttons 1, 5. Then, still holding the TV button, press the STOP 9 but- ton.

Repeat step 1.

If the remote control works your TV, you’re finished. If the remote control still doesn’t work your TV, repeat steps 2 - 3, using a different code for your brand.

Helpful Hints

If you had to program the remote control to operate your TV, whenev- er you replace the batteries in the remote control, you will have to pro- gram the remote control again.
