Manual Channel Setting

When you want to do channel setting manually, follow this procedure.

1Select Tuner Set Up Mode

1Press VCR.

2Press MENU.

3Press PLAY 5 or STOP ° to select “TUNER SET UP” then press 3/OK. The Tuner Set Up menu appears.

4Press PLAY 5or STOP °to select

“CHANGING TUNER SET UP” then press 3/OK.

The programmed channel informa- tion list appears with the settings of the tuned channel flashing. (You can also watch the picture of the tuned channel since the list and the picture alternates on the TV.)

2Select Station

1 Press PLAY 5or STOP °until an

open channel in which you want to store a new

channel starts flashing then press 3/ OK.

2Press PLAY 5or STOP °to select the search starting band.

VHF L: Starts searching from the VHF L band.

VHF H: Starts searching from the VHF H band.

UHF: Starts searching from the UHF band.

3Press 3/OK.

Searching starts, and when a station is tuned in, searching stops and the tuned frequency is shown on the TV. Then the following menu appears.

3Store Channel

Press PLAY 5or

SELECT CHOOSE /OK

STOP °to select

CONTINUE SEARCH

 

STORE CHANNEL

“STORE CHANN-

 

EL” then press 3/

 

OK.

TO END PUSH EXIT

The programmed

channel information list appears again with the settings of the newly tuned channel flashing.

If you do not want to store this station, select “CONTINUE SEARCH” then press 3/OK, searching starts again.

4Finish Setting

Press EXIT/STATUS.

Selecting Colour Mode

This section is for VR499/75 only.

Before using the VCR, you need to set the colour mode both for recording and playback.

Press COLOUR MODE on the front panel to change the colour system.

For recording:

AUTO: Normally select this mode. The colour system is automatically detected.

NTSC3.58: Select this mode if “AUTO” does not work well when recording the NTSC signals. (For playback on an

NTSC TV) NTSC4.43: Select this mode if

“AUTO” does not work well when recording the NTSC signals on PAL TV. (For playback on a PAL TV)

PAL: Select this mode if “AUTO” does not work well when recording the PAL signals.

For playback:

AUTO: Normally select this mode. When you watch a PAL, NTSC, the colour system is automatically detected.

NTSC3.58: Select this mode when you watch an NTSC3.58 tape on an NTSC TV.

NTSC PAL: Select this mode if “AUTO” does not work well when playing back an NTSC tape on a PAL TV.

NTSC4.43: Select this mode when you watch an NTSC4.43 tape on a PAL TV.

PAL: Select this mode if “AUTO” does not work well when playing back a PAL tape.

When playing back an NTSC tape with “AUTO” mode selected

The tape is played back using “NTSC3.58”
