Knowing Your Vehicle Belts

This belt-positioning booster must only be used in vehicles with appropriate vehicle belts that can be tightened securely. If the vehicle belt cannot be tightened securely, it must be replaced. This booster MUST only be used with a lap/shoulder belt. Belt systems which will not work with this child auto booster (or sometimes any child restraint) include, but are not limited to, the following:

Do not use with any automatic/passive vehicle seat belt. An automatic (passive) 2-point belt has no lap belt. You must install a lap belt to secure a car seat. You may also need to install an extra lap belt for an automatic (passive) 3-point belt. Refer to the vehicle owner’s manual.

If your vehicle belt is too short, contact your vehicle dealer for a seat belt extender. Do not route the seat belt any way except as shown in the instructions.

You must move the auto booster to another seating location if the belts come out of the center of the door or side panel (A); or if the buckle is in the middle of the vehicle seat cushion (so that they are forward of the bight) (B).
