Remote Control in Zone 2

You can use the supplied remote control in a second room (Zone 2), as the Zone 2 remote control. You can select the input source and control components located in the main room directly from the second room regardless of the listening conditions in the main room.

To enable Zone 2 mode on the remote control

1 Press CODE SET using a ballpoint pen or similar object.

“SETUP” and the selected component name appear alternately in the display window.

2 Press j / i to select “L:AMP”.

4 Press CODE SET to complete the Zone 2 setup.

Immediately after you have configured the remote control for Zone 2, the remote will be to MAIN mode. When the remote is in MAIN mode, you can turn the main unit on, or set it in standby mode independently of the Zone 2 by pressing SYSTEM POWER or STANDBY (“MAIN” appears on the display window for 2 seconds.)

To use the remote control in Zone 2

1 Press SELECT k to display “ZONE2” in the display window.

2 Press SYSTEM POWER to turn Zone 2 power on.

3 Press an input selector button to select the input source you want to listen to in the second room.

The display window shows “2: name of selected input” if the remote control is in the Zone 2 mode.

• You cannot select VCR 2/DVR as the input source.

5 Press SELECT k / n to exit from the Zone 2 mode.

Notes

The MUTE button on the remote control works for the second room. However Zone 2 volume cannot be adjusted with the remote control. Use the control on the amplifier in the second room.

CODE SET, CLEAR and RENAME will not function when the remote control is set to ZONE 2 mode.

When you have finished using the unit

To set both the main unit and the Zone 2 in standby mode

1 Press SELECT n to display “SYSTM” in the display window.

2 Press STANDBY.

The SYSTEM POWER and STANDBY works differently depending on the selected mode that appears on the display window.

Notes

To change the remote control to MAIN mode, press SELECT k / n repeatedly if necessary to display a name of a component on the display window.

When the remote control is in SYSTEM mode, pressing any button other than SYSTEM POWER or STANDBY returns the remote to the previous mode.
