Taking Pictures

The COOLPIX S3 has a two-stage shutter-release button. Pressing the shut- ter-release button halfway focuses the camera. Pressing it the rest of the way down releases the shutter to record a picture.

Focus

Press the shutter-release button halfway to set focus and exposure. In mode, the camera will auto- matically focus on the subject at the center of the frame. Focus and exposure will lock while the shutter- release button is pressed halfway.

With the shutter-release button pressed halfway, check the focus and ﬂash indicators:
