To turn the camera power on, rotate the shutter speed dial from L to another set- ting while pressing the dial lock-release button.

When not using the camera, be sure to set the shutter dial to L, to turn off power and conserve battery power.

Lightly press shutter release button and check viewfinder exposure indicator LED(s) (+ , 0 and/or - ) to make sure battery power is sufficient.

Exposure indicator LED(s) lights up or blinks if power is sufficient, and stays on approx. 8 sec. after you take your finger off the button.
