Troubleshooting

If you’re having problems with your camera, try the solutions in this section. If the problem still exists, please consult the warranty in this user’s guide.

External noise and interference (from a TV, a radio, etc.) might prevent your camera from functioning properly. In such cases, first disconnect its power supply (batteries, AC power supply, etc.); and then reconnect it and proceed as usual from the beginning.

Power Problems

No power is supplied.

The batteries are not installed correctly (see page 9).

The power supply has not been correctly connected (see page 13).

The power suddenly goes off and does not come back on by itself.

The camera automatically turns off to save power if you don’t use the features for more than a few minutes. Turn the Power dial off and then on again.

The batteries are completely discharged.

Feature and Function Problems

Vertical white lines appear when shooting a very bright object.

This sometimes occurs when there is a lot of contrast between the background and the object. It is not a defect of the camera. Try shooting from a different angle or adjusting the lighting conditions.

Bright, crystal-shaped spots appear in the LCD monitor and the viewfinder.

Sunlight is directly entering the lens. This is not a defect of the camera.

The rear of the LCD monitor is hot.

The light used to illuminate the LCD monitor causes it to be hot. Turn off the monitor or set the Power dial to OFF, and let the unit cool down.
