Taking a Picture

To take a picture with your camera:

1Make sure you have a Compact Flash memory card inserted in the memory card slot.

2Set the Mode switch to Capture.

3Turn the camera on.

4Frame your subject in the optical viewfinder.

5Hold the camera still and press the Shutter button down fully. You will hear the sound of the auto- focus motor as it adjusts and focuses the lens.

èThe Ready light will blink red while the picture is processing. When the light changes to solid green, the camera is ready to take another picture.

TIP

When using the flash, you can decrease the amount of time required for the camera to become

 

ready between pictures by turning off the LCD screen display.

 

 

To preview your picture on the LCD screen before taking it:

1Set the Mode switch to Capture.

2Turn the camera on.

3Press the red Select button to turn on the LCD display.

4Frame your subject by looking at the LCD screen.

5Hold the camera still and press the Shutter button down fully.

èTo turn off the LCD screen and return to using the optical viewfinder, press the Select button a second time.

The lighting is too bright to see the LCD screen.
