Doing macro photography outdoors “in the wild” often means that you can’t get too close to your subject and lighting can’t be easily controlled. That’s when you need a telephoto macro lens like the SAL100M28. Greater working distance means you can capture tight macro shots of small-scale wildlife without scaring it away, and you’re not so close that you need special lighting to illuminate your subject.
