Filming in poor light can’t always be avoided and leaves lesser camcorders with ‘picture noise’ – fuzzy footage that’s no fun to watch. But a Sony Digital Handycam uses Advanced HAD to cut out fuzz at the moment of conversion. This technology means the CCD can convert more light per pixel, reducing picture noise by up to 50%.

Raw Data Noise Reduction

This new Sony technology makes Advanced HAD more effective than ever. It applies noise reduction (NR) directly at source to the original image data, as your Handycam is reading it off the CCD. With quality like this, you’ll be proud to show your movies to friends.

Inter-frame NR

This technology is only possible because your Handycam can work so fast. By quickly com- paring successive frames, it isolates and reduces the type of signal noise that could adversely affect colour and luminance.
