4-5 Setting the Image Quality (continued)

1Compression Rate

Sets the image compression rate. A lower compression rate means a higher image quality. However, with a reduced compression rate, data volume also increases.

This setting is not available for MPEG4. Value range: 1 to 7 (Set to Ò2Ó at the factory)

2White Balance

Auto

: Automatically adjusts the white

balance, the standard for color

saturation. Factory set.

R gain

: To manually adjust the white bal-

ance toward more red intensity.

Value range: 0 to100

B gain

: To manually adjust the white bal-

ance toward more blue intensity.

Value range: 0 to100

3Shutter Speed

1/60 : Normal speed. Factory set.

1/100 : This reduces image flickers due to fluorescent lighting in areas where the commercial power fre- quency is 50 Hz.

4Saturation

Adjusts color saturation. A smaller value makes colors less dense. Set to Ò25Ó at the factory

5AGC, AES, BLC

AGC

: Automatically adjusts the gain in

accordance with the brightness.

Factory Set.

AES

: Automatically adjusts the shutter

speed in accordance with the

brightness. Only for a manual iris

lens.

BLC

: Back light compensation. When

there is a bright light source in the

background of the object, VN-C10

adjusts the weighted zone.

Note

AES cannot be turned on when AGC is set to [OFF].

AES cannot be turned on if the shutter speed is set to [1/100].

BLC cannot be turned on when AGC is set to [OFF].

Do not use AES with a DC IRIS lens. It may cause flickering.

6Default

Returns all values, except that for iris level, for image quality to those set at the factory.

7Iris level

Brightness adjustment for a DC IRIS lens.

A smaller value makes images darker, closing the iris.
