The above corrected response is not a perfectly flat curve. For good sound quality in a vehicle a flat curve may sound great when the vehicle is stopped and the engine is off. However, most people put systems in cars to listen to great music with the engine running while driving. The above response is not a mandate for good quality sound in a vehicle but one example of a frequency response that has smooth transitions from octave to octave and compensates for the road and vehicle noise. To get the best sound quality in a system, use an RTA to detect and resolve problems but use your hearing to determine if the finished product is acceptable.
