Traffic announcements

Traffic announcements (TA)

The device uses the RDS servic- es TA and EON to play traffic an- nouncements even if you are cur- rently listening to another audio source. If you did not define a traffic information station, the de- vice can automatically switch to a traffic information station of the same broadcasting network for the duration of a traffic an- nouncement.

Receiving traffic announce- ments

As soon as the device receives a traffic announcement:

The traffic announcement is switched through using the vol- ume defined in the settings menu (see "TRAFFIC" on page 115).

The traffic information display appears for the duration of the traffic announcement.

For the device to switch through traffic announcements:

The priority of traffic announce- ments must be switched on (see page 94).

A traffic information station must be set or it must belong to the same broadcasting net- work as the current station.

Skipping a traffic announcement

To cancel a traffic announcement without switching off the priority of traffic announcements:

Press the softkey < (next to "TA EXIT").

The current traffic announce- ment is cancelled. The previ- ously active audio source is played again and the corre- sponding display appears. If a traffic announcement is broad- cast again, the device automat- ically switches it through again.

Permanently switching the priority of traffic announcements on/off

The priority of traffic announce- ments is switched on if the "TRAFFIC" menu item (on the dis- play of the audio source or in the "TUNER" menu) is highlighted.

You have two options to switch the priority of traffic announce- ments on or off:
