Press Sup, down, left, or right in the home screen to open basic menu features. You can show or hide menu icons for these features in the home screen, and change the menu icons that are shown. For more information, see page 78.

Status indicators can show at the top of the home screen:

1Data Indicator – Shows connection status. The Bluetooth® indicator à shows when your phone is paired with another device. Other indicators can include:

The home screen shows when you turn on the phone. To dial a number from the home screen, press number keys and U.

Note: Your home screen may look different, depending on your service provider.

The menu indicator À shows that you can press Mto open the menu. Soft key labels show the current soft key functions. For soft key locations, see page 1.

Your home screen might show scrolling headlines from your service provider. To change this headline view, press M> Settings > Personalise > Home screen.

2 EDGE/GPRS Indicator – Shows when your phone is

using a high-speedEnhanced Data for GSM Evolution (EDGE) or General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network connection. Indicators can include:

+ = GPRS connection

È = EDGE connection

* = GPRS PDP context

, = GPRS packet data

3Signal Strength Indicator – Vertical bars show the strength of the network connection. You can’t make or receive calls when ! or ) shows.

4 Roam Indicator – The roam indicator ã shows when your phone is seeking or using a network outside your home network. Other indicators can include:

= 2G roam

= 2.5G roam

5 Active Line Indicator – Shows ? to indicate an active call, or > to indicate when call diverting is on.

Indicators for dual-line-enabled SIM cards can include:

B = line 2 active

A = line 1 active, call

C = line 2 active, call
