Basic Operation

When idle in radio Group or Private modes (not talking or listening), you are able to receive incoming radio calls. When talking or listen- ing, however, Call Alerts, Private Conversa- tions, and Status Mes- sages are not received.

To make a radio call:

1.Select the appropriate mode.

2.Hold the microphone in front of your mouth and press the PTT. Listen for the tone that lets you know it’s okay to talk.

3.After the tone, speak into the microphone.

4.When you are done talking, release the PTT to listen.

To respond when someone calls you on the radio:

1.Hold the microphone in front of your mouth and press the PTT to talk.

2.Speak into the microphone.

3.Release the PTT to listen.

As long as your unit is powered on and is idle, you can receive radio calls.
