Abc (tap) mode

This is the standard mode for entering text on your phone. This mode cycles through the letters, numbers, and symbols of the key you press.

1Press a key once to insert the first letter on the key, twice for the second letter, and so on. If you pause briefly, your phone accepts the last letter in the display and waits for the next entry.

2Enter the remaining characters in the same way.

Tip: Press #to enter a space. On your keypad, a space looks like .

When you enter text with tap mode, the soft key functions change.

Press left or right on the Directional key (S) to move the flashing cursor in a text message.

If you don’t want to save your text or text edits, press the Power/End key (U) twice to exit without saving.

iTAP® mode

iTAP software provides a predictive text entry method that combines your key presses into common words.

When you enter three or more letters in a row, your phone may guess the rest of the word. For example, if you enter prog, your phone might show:
