8. Profiles
Profiles define how your phone functions when you receive a call or message, how your keypad sounds when you press a key, and more. Ringing options, keypad tones, and other settings for each of the available profiles can be left at the default setting or customized to suit your needs. The following profiles are available: Normal, Silent, Meeting, Outdoor, and Pager.
Profiles are also available for enhancements such as a headset and car kit. See "Enhancement settings," p. 51, for more information about enhancement profiles.
■Activate
In the standby mode, select Menu > Profiles > the profile of your choice > Activate.
■Customize a profile
You can customize the profiles in a variety of ways.
You cannot rename the Normal profile.
1.In the standby mode, select Menu > Profiles.
2.Highlight the profile you wish to customize; select Customize, and the option you want to customize.
■Set a timed profile
Timed profiles can prevent missed calls. For example, if you attend an event that requires your phone to be Silent, but you forget to return it to Normal, a timed profile returns your phone to the default profile at the time you specify. Timed profiles can be set up to 24 hours in advance.
1.In the standby mode, select Menu > Profiles.
2.Select the profile you wish to activate and Timed for timed expiration.
3.Enter the time for the profile to expire, and select OK.
