Operating in analog ( ) mode. Your phone switches between modes to find the best signal.

To set your phone to operate in a single mode, select Menu Settings Network

Digital or Analog.

Operating in digital mode when far away from a base station or cell site.

Using data cables or accessories, such as the Hands-free headset.

Operating when no service is available, or service is available intermittently.

High earpiece and ringer volume settings.

Repeating sound, vibration, or lighted alerts.

Replacing the faceplate

Your Kyocera K490 Series phone has a removable faceplate. To remove the faceplate and replace it with a new one:

1.Place your thumbnail under the small lip at the bottom of the faceplate.

2.Lift the faceplate away from the phone.

3.Align the tabs on the new faceplate with the slots in the phone.

4.Press the faceplate until it snaps into place.

Performing basic functions

Turn the phone on: Press and wait until the hourglass icon appears.

Turn the phone off: Press and hold until the phone beeps or the screen goes blank.

Make a call: Enter the number and press .

End a call: Press (the red key).

Answer a call: Press (the green key).

Access voicemail: Press and hold and follow the system prompts. Contact your service provider for details about their voicemail system.

Verify your phone number: Select Menu Phone Info.

Silence the ringer: Press , then to answer.

Lock the keypad: Press

left.

 

Access a contacts list: Press

 

down.

 

Silence all sounds: Press

 

right.

 

Access your shortcuts: Press

 

up.

 

Turn the flashlight on: Press and hold

.

Turn the flashlight off: Release

.
