System Setup Operation

To display the System mode screen:

To watch a video source, your vehicle must be parked with the ignition key in the ACC or ON position. To do this, follow the procedure below.

1.Brake to bring your vehicle to a complete stop at a safe location. Engage the parking brake.

2.Keep pushing the foot brake and release the parking brake once then engage it again.

3.When the parking brake is engaged for the second time, release the foot brake.

For automatic transmission vehicles, place the transmission lever in the Park position.

Now, the locking system for the System mode operation has been released. Engaging the parking brake can reactivate the System mode, as long as the car's ignition has not been turned off. It is not necessary to repeat the above procedure (1 through 3), of “To display the System mode screen.”

Each time the ignition is turned OFF, perform the procedure of “To display the System mode screen.”

The following steps 1 to 6 are common operations to each “Setting item” of SYSTEM Setup. Refer to each section for details.

1 Press SOURCE/POWER.

The main menu is displayed.

2 Press 6 (SETUP).

The Setup mode screen appears.

3 Turn the Rotary encoder to select “SYSTEM,” then press the Rotary encoder.

The SYSTEM list is displayed.

4 Turn the Rotary encoder to select your desired setting item.

The screen shows the Function Guide.

*Displays the function assigned for each button (the Function buttons).

Setting items:

5 Press the function buttons to switch the setting.

6 Press 7 (RETURN).

The screen returns to the previous one.

With the System screen displayed, pressing and rotating the rotary encoder will adjust the volume level.

Immediately after inputting titles or changing the settings of System Mode (While the system is inputting the titles or data automatically) do not turn the ignition key (engine key) to OFF. Otherwise, a title may not be written, or the settings may not be changed.

Navigation Interruption and Adjusting its Volume

Setting item: NAV.MIX

Setting content: OFF / ON

With an Alpine navigation system connected to the IVA-D900, the voice guidance of the navigation system will be mixed with the radio or CD play. You can adjust the volume level of the voice guidance.

OFF: The navigation interruption mode is turned off.

ON: The navigation interruption mode is on.

1)After setting it to ON, press the Rotary encoder to select

NAV.MIX mode.

VOL. NAV. SUB W. BAL. FAD. DEFEAT VOL.

2)Turn the Rotary encoder to adjust the volume (0 to 15) of

the navigation voice.

The audio volume during the navigation guide can be set by adjusting the audio volume while the navigation guide continues. When the navigation guide finishes, the previous audio volume and the previous screen are restored. For exception, if the navigation cuts in when the audio volume is lower than the setting level, the audio volume during the navigation guide is reset the current listening volume. (When the navigation guide cuts in, the audio volume does not increase.)

This setting is effective when NAV.IN of SYSTEM list screen is ON.

When PXA-H510 or PXA-H900 is connected, NAV.MIX value set in this unit does not affect PXA-H510 or PXA-H900.

Setting the Navigation Mode

When you connect an optional navigation equipment, set it to ON.

Setting item: NAV. IN

Setting contents: OFF / ON

ON: Navigation source is displayed.

OFF: Navigation source is not displayed. The settings related to the navigation can not be changed from this unit.

Setting the AUX Mode

Setting item: AUX IN 1, 2, 3

Setting content: OFF / LEVEL LOW / HIGH

OFF: AUX source is not displayed.

LEVEL LOW/HIGH:

The sound volume from the external equipment can be adjusted. When LOW or HIGH is selected, AUX source will be ON.

OFF is not displayed when the optional DVD player or DVD changer is connected.

When OFF is selected, the settings related to AUX can not be changed from this unit (except for “Name external equipment to be displayed” page 34).

When either DVD player or DVD changer is connected to AUX IN 1, DVD is displayed on the screen. When both of them are connected, DVD is displayed for AUX IN 1 and DVD CHG is displayed for AUX IN 2.
