Polk Audio PSW10, PSW12 Option #2, Two channel or Dolby Pro Logic receiver with no Sub Out

OPTION #2

Two channel or Dolby® Pro Logic receiver with no “Sub Out.”

If you elect to use the speaker level inputs, use two-conductor 16 gauge or thicker speaker wires. See your Polk dealer for wire recommendations.

Note that one of the speaker input terminals on the rear of the speaker is marked red (+) and the other black (-). Make certain that you connect the wire from the red (+) terminal of your receiver to the red (+) terminal on your speaker, and the wire from the black (-) terminal of the receiver to the black (-) terminal on your speaker. Speaker wire has some indication (such as color coding, ribbing, or writing) on one of the two conductors to help maintain consistency. If your subwoofer doesn't seem to produce much bass, it is most likely that one of the speaker wires is connected backwards. Double check all connec- tions for correct polarity.

Strip 1/2" (12mm) of insulation from each of the two conductors on both ends to expose the bare wire. Twist the exposed wire of each conductor to form two un-frayed strands.

Note: Do not use the line or LFE input in this configuration.

Connect the left and right front speaker outputs of your receiver to the speaker level inputs of the powered subwoofer using speaker wire.

Then, connect the left and right front speakers using speaker wire from the speaker level outputs from the powered subwoofer.

Connect the Center Channel Speaker directly to the center channel output from your receiver.

Connect the Rear Surround Satellites directly to the rear or surround channel outputs from your receiver.

OPTION #2

Subwoofer = «OFF» ou «NO»

Enceintes centrale et ambiophoniques = «SMALL»

PSW12, PSW10 specifications

Polk Audio, a well-respected name in the audio industry, offers an exceptional range of subwoofers that elevate home theater experiences. Among these, the PSW10 and PSW12 models stand out as powerful options for music and movie enthusiasts seeking deep bass and overall audio enhancement.

The Polk Audio PSW10 is a compact yet powerful subwoofer, featuring a 10-inch dynamic balance woofer. With a built-in 50-watt RMS amplifier and a peak power of 100 watts, it delivers robust bass performance that fills any room. The PSW10 is equipped with a frequency response that ranges from 35 Hz to 180 Hz, making it capable of reproducing low-frequency sounds with clarity and precision. Its front-firing design allows for flexible placement options, while the adjustable crossover and volume controls enable users to customize their listening experience for optimal results.

On the other hand, the Polk Audio PSW12 takes the bass experience to another level. Featuring a larger 12-inch dynamic balance driver, it provides a deeper and richer bass that can be felt throughout the room. The PSW12 boasts a built-in 400-watt peak amplifier, ensuring that it can handle even the most demanding audio tracks without distortion. Like its smaller counterpart, it also has an adjustable crossover for fine-tuning bass levels to match a variety of speakers and room settings.

Both models incorporate Polk Audio's proprietary technologies, such as the Dynamic Balance technology, which minimizes distortion and enhances audio clarity. The speaker cabinets are designed to eliminate unwanted resonances, ensuring that bass sounds remain clean and tight. Additionally, the ported enclosures in both subwoofers enhance the low-frequency response, providing deeper and more impactful bass.

The PSW10 and PSW12 are also designed with versatility in mind. They feature LFE and line-level inputs, making them compatible with a wide range of AV receivers and audio sources. This flexibility ensures that users can easily integrate these subwoofers into their existing audio systems.

In summary, both the Polk Audio PSW10 and PSW12 are exceptional choices for anyone looking to enhance their audio experience. With powerful amplifiers, robust dynamic balance woofers, and an emphasis on clarity and impact, they offer remarkable performance for both music and home theater applications. Whether you choose the compact PSW10 or the more powerful PSW12, you can expect deep, resonant bass that truly enhances your listening experience.
