Receiving

When the RSM is connected to the radio accessory connector, the radio’s speaker is muted, and the audio is only heard from the RSM speaker. Similarly, when a secondary receiver audio accessory is plugged into the 3.5

mmaudio jack (PMMN4015), audio to the RSM is rerouted to the secondary accessory.

Transmitting

To transmit using your RSM:

1.Press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on the RSM.

2.Speak into the RSM.

3.Release the PTT when finished.

Note: Connecting the RSM to the radio does not disable the radio’s microphone and PTT.

REMOVING THE RSM

Turn the radio off before removing the RSM from the radio. Remember to reattach the radio accessory connector seal to the side of the radio when an accessory is not being used.

USING THE ORANGE EMERGENCY BUTTON

The orange button on the RSM remotely activates the same function that is programmed for the radio’s orange button. Your radio’s user guide contains a full description of the emergency mode and other programmable functions that are available through these buttons.

Note: 1. The RSM Emergency button does not turn radio on as does the radio’s emergency button.

2.The RSM orange button does not exit emergency mode. Use radio control to exit emergency mode.
