INTRODUCTION: Thank you for purchasing the Scotty IIby American DJ®. For your conve- nience this unit has been lamped and is ready to be used, there is no assembly required. Please read the following instructions before installing or using your new unit. The Scotty ll's™ appearance and effect is similar to our popular Vertigo, but has no motors or moving parts inside which increases its' reliability. This unit features a built-in four channel sound active chaser, illuminating the four internal lamps. This unit is Master/Slave compatible which means you may link several units together for

a synchronized light show. For an optimum effect link up to four Scotty IIstogether for dramatic light show.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS: The Scotty llis ready to be hung or set on flat surface. After plugging the unit in, it will react to the low frequencies of a music source (bass) via the unit's internal microphone. The unit comes with a sensitivity adjusting knob on the rear of the unit. Use the sensitivity knob to control the amount of sound it takes to activate your unit. Turn the knob in clockwise direction for full sensitivity and counter-clockwise to decrease the unit sensitivity to sound. For Master/Slave operation, link two or more units then turn down the sensitivity of the slave units. Be sure not to obstruct the cooling vents and keep in a well ventilated area. For best results, use fog or special effects smoke to enhance the beam output.

Linking: To link the units together use standard XLR mic cables. Up to four units can be linked together. Any unit can act as a master or slave. Remember that the male XLR connection is the Input and the female XLR is the Output. Follow figure one to ensure proper connectivity.

CAUTION: The front part of fixture will get extremely hot if operated for long periods. For optimum performance, use a 30 min. ON/10 min. OFF duty cycle. Let the unit cool before handling or replacing lamps. Never open this unit when in use. Always disconnect the main power before serving or replacing lamp.

Please fill out the warranty card to validate and activate your 3 year limited warranty on the Scotty II.

Lamp replacement: Remember to always replace with the exact same type lamps and fuse unless otherwise specified by an authorized American DJservice technician.

This unit comes with four lamps, all are located behind the front lens assembly. To replace the lamps disconnect the unit's main power. Remove the front lens assembly to expose the lamps. Remove the old lamps and replace with alike lamps. Replace the lens assembly and reconnect main power.

HALOGEN LAMP WARNING! This fixture is fitted with halogen lamps which are highly susceptible to damage if improperly handled. Never touch lamp with bare fingers as the oil from your hands will shorten lamp life. Also, never move fixture until lamp has had ample time to cool.
