BATTERIES AND CHARGING
Battery maintenance is the most important part of maintaining your scooter. Keeping the batteries fully charged helps to extend battery life. Use the following guidelines to help keep your batteries in optimum condition.

To Charge the Batteries:
The charger for all Companion models is an off-

Battery Maintenance
•These batteries are maintenance free.
•There is no danger of spillage or leakage, so these batteries are safely transportable on aircraft, busses, trains, etc.
•By following the procedures set out in this manual, you can expect extended life from your Golden Companion’s batteries.
If the battery terminals become corroded:
•Corrosion can cause a poor electrical connection and operational problems.
•Clean corroded battery terminals with a stiff brush and a mix of baking soda and water.
Battery Cable Installation
If it becomes necessary to install new batteries, you may need to change each battery harness. See figure
