Follow these easy steps for a quick and safe repair for both pneumatic and solid tires:

1.Turn off the power to the controller.

2.Make sure that the power chair is in drive mode. See figure 8.

3.Raise and support the power base so that the wheel is at least 1 in. (2.5 cm) off of the ground.

4.Completely deflate the tire (if the tire is pneumatic).

5.Remove the hub cap. See figure 21.

6.Remove the drive wheel nut and washer from the axle. See figure 21.

7.Remove the drive wheel from the axle. Make sure that you keep the key.

8.Remove the acorn nuts that fasten the two rim halves together. See figure 22.

9.Remove the old tube from the pneumatic tire and replace it with a new tube or replace the entire assembly if it is a solid tire.

10.Reassemble the two rim halves.

11.Slide the wheel back onto the axle. Make sure that the key is in the axle slot.

12.Reinstall the drive wheel nut and washer onto the axle and tighten. See figure 22.

13.Reinstall the hub cap.

14.Inflate the pneumatic tire to 35 psi (2.4 bar).

15.Remove the power chair from the base support.

Battery Replacement

A battery wiring diagram is printed on a decal located the power base. See VI. “Batteries and Charging” for correct battery specifications.

MANDATORY! Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash hands after handling.

WARNING! The batteries in your power chair should only be serviced or replaced by an authorized Pride Provider or a qualified technician.

WARNING! Do not replace batteries when seat is occupied.

WARNING! Power chair batteries are heavy. See specifications table. If you are unable to lift that much weight, be sure to get help.
