2.Press LINE 1 then lift the handset.

3.Dial one of your phone numbers. If the Line 2 indicator flashes, the number is connected to Line 2. If you hear a busy signal, the number is connected to Line 1.

After you confirm the phone number for each line, write the numbers on the number plate above the keypad. Use a paper clip to lift off the plate’s plastic cover. Use a pencil to write the numbers in case the numbers change.

Setting the Ringer Volume

To adjust the ringer volume, set RINGER to LO for a quiet ring or HI for a louder ring.

If you do not want the ringer to sound, set RINGER to OFF. You can still make and answer calls if you hear another phone on the same phone line ring or if you see a line indicator flashing.

Line Indicator

The ring for Line 1 has a lower pitch than the ring for Line 2. This helps you tell which line is ringing.

To end a call, hang up the handset.

Adjusting the Handset Volume

Set the handset volume switch in the center of the handset to the desired lev- el (LO, MED, or HI).

Using Hold

To place a call on hold, press HOLD. The line’s indicator lights.
