Problem	Cause	Solution


Continuous tone	No outgoing message	Record an outgoing mes-
sounds.	recorded.	sage (see “Recording the
		Outgoing Message” on
		Page 6).

	The cassette tape is	Unplug the adapter from the
	jammed or broken.	AC outlet, replace the tape,
		then plug the adapter back
		into the AC outlet.

	Slack in the cassette	Unplug the adapter from the
	tape.	AC outlet, remove the cas-
		sette from the answering
		system, and turn the cas-
		sette’s hub with the tip of a
		pencil to take up any slack.
		Then replace the tape and
		plug the adapter back into
		the AC outlet.
