Caller ID OperatIon

About names

Names of callers will be displayed only if this informa- tion is provided by your local telephone company.

If the telephone number of the person calling exactly matches a number in your directory, the name that appears on the screen will match the name that you entered into your directory.

(Example: If Christine Smith calls, her name will appear as CHRIS if this is how you entered it into your direc- tory.)

NOTE: The number shown by your caller ID will be in the format sent by the phone company. The phone company usually delivers ten-digit phone numbers (area code plus phone number). If the telephone num-

ber of the person calling does not exactly match a number in your directory, the name will appear as delivered by the phone company. For example if the phone company includes the area code and the directory number does not, the name will appear as delivered by the phone company.

There are also occasions when other information or no information is displayed for various reasons:

may also generate this message.

NOTE: When in idle mode, the screen will show XX MISSED CALLS and the current date and time.

Missed calls

When a handset is not being used, its screen will show the number of missed calls and the current date and time. XX MISSED CALLS are calls that have not been reviewed at that handset. When a NEW call log entry is reviewed, the number of missed calls at that handset decreases by one.
