oForoptimumsoundqualityand performance,we recommendyouto replacethe OGMand the ICM cassettetapes every six months and to re-recordthe outgoing message everythree months supposingthatthe unitanswerscallsabouttentimesevery day.

oNeverplacea cassettelape neara magneticsource,suchas a magnelor a TV set,becausethiswillalfectthetape quality.

oShouldthe lncomingMessagecassette

tapebreakor becomeworn,replaceil witha highquality"NORMAL"tape.

UsePanasonic(C-30,C-60,C-90), TDKor MAXELLcassettetape.Metalor chrometapecannotbe used.

.Slack in the tapecan be tightenedby rotatingthe tape reelwitha pencil,as shown:

oA sensingfoil(silver)is attachedto the endlesstapelfthe. sensingfoildoesnot

.contactthe sensingswitch,theendless tapewillnotstopautomatically,andit is probablyworn or cracked.Replaceit witha newPanasonicendlesscassette tape(KX-C030).

oObservecarefullythatthetapeand capstanare locatedas shownbelow,

and inserttheendlesstapeintothe 'machine.

The followingendlesscassettetapescan alsobeusedwiththisunit:

Becausethe headandcapstan assembliesarein contactwiththetaoe. dirtandresiduefromthetapecaneasily adherelo theseparts,causingdistortion. Thesepartsshouldbecleaned periodicallyin the mannerdescribed below:

oCleanthe headsurfaces,sensing switch, pressurerollers and capstans with a cotton swab.

llthesesurfacesareextremelydirty, dampenthecottonswabwithalcohol.

.Do notbringmagneticor metalobiects, suchas a screwdriver,nearthe head assemblies,as suchob.lectscould magnetizethe heads.

.Do notoil any partof the unit.

.lf thereis trouble,disconnecttheunit fromtheteleDhoneline.Whenthe telephoneisconnectedto the EASA- PHONE,disconnectthetelephonelrom theEASA-PHONEandplugthe

telephonedirectlyintothe telephone line.lf thetelephoneoperatesproperly,

do notreconnecttheunitto the lineuntil the troublehasbeenrepairedby an authorizedPanasonicFactoryService Center.lf thetelephonedoes not operatewhentheunitis disconnected, chancesarethatthetroubleis in the telephonesystem,andnot in the unit.

. Donotusebenzine,thinner,or similar solvents.Do notuseabrasiveoowderto

cleanthecabinetWipe. itwith a soft cloth.

.Keep the unitawayfromheating' appliancesandelectricalnoise generatingdevicessuchas lluorescent lamDs.motorsandtelevisionThese. noisesourcescaninterferewiththe performanceofthe EASA-PHONE.

.This unitandthecassettetapesshould be keptfreeol dust,moisture,high temperatureandvibration,and should not be exposedto directsunlight.

.Never attemplto insertwires,pins,etc. intotheventsor otherholesof thisunit.

.Do nol use C-120 tapeto preventthe tapefromsticking.
