Channel Scanning, VOX Function, Dual Watch Mode

Channel Scanning

Press function button three times until the SCAN icon flashes. Press the Up or Down button to enable the Scan function (the icon will appear steadily on the display). While in Scan mode, the unit will pause on any active channel for 5 seconds, and then proceed to the next higher channel. The unit will scan channels 1–14 for activity. Scanning will continue until the PTT (2), Function (12) or Up/Down buttons are pressed.

NOTE: When in SCAN mode, the transceiver cannot be turned off; exit the SCAN mode first.

VOX Function

This feature enables you to have hands-free conversation. When using the external microphone or headset, your voice or the signal is detected and radio transmits and receives automatically.

To access VOX function, press function button 4 times until VOX icon flashes. Press UP or DOWN button to enable VOX function (icon will appear steadily).

Dual Watch Mode

This feature allows monitoring of two channels simultaneously. Press function button repeatedly until “0” appears in the channel number

display and the Antenna icon

and Call icon

flash. Using the

▲▼ buttons, choose the alternate channel number you wish to monitor foractivity. Press the function button to enter your selection. The channel display will now flash showing your current channel and alternate channel selection. To disable Dual Watch mode,
