17. Keypad Lock

There may be times when you don’t want to inadvertently press a key on the radio’s keypad. In this case, you can select Keypad Lock by pressing the I key (below the PTT key on the left hand side) for two seconds. This will cause the key- pad lock indicator two be shown, and the Radio Status Display will show KEY LOCK ON. (Fig. 18) While the keypad is locked, the keypad will not respond to

key presses. Press the I key for another two seconds to unlock the keypad. This will extinguish the Lock indicator, and show KEY LOCK OFF on the Radio Status Display.

When keys are locked, only the PTT key and I key function.

Locking the keypad can be confus- ing. When the radio doesn’t seem to be operating properly, see if the LOCK indicator is on.

18.Restore Factory Settings

To reset all of the customized settings to the original factory settings, hold the 16/9/TRI key down while turning on the radio. Customized settings and channels stored in memory will be lost when facto- ry settings are restored.
