Listening to the Radio

Press to turn the tuner on and change the band.

Each time the button is pressed

Press if “ ” is displayed. “ ” disappears.

To obtain good reception

AM Try various directions to obtain optimum reception.

When listening to the radio on a train or inside a building, reception may be poor. Try and listen beside a window.

To turn off the radio

Press .

Press to tune to a station.

To tune in AM or FM stations automatically (auto tuning)

Press and hold one of these buttons until the frequency starts to change continuously, and then release it.

(The frequency will automatically stop changing as soon as the first station is tuned in.)

Select channels 1-7 to listen to the weather band. ( see right)

Adjust the volume by turning this control toward “+” or “-”. (0-32)

To select stereo or monaural FM

Press and hold until “MONO” appears.

Weather Radio broadcasts warnings, watches, forecasts and other information 24 hours a day on 7 VHF band frequencies (162.40 MHz to 162.55 MHz) in the U.S. and Canada, with each frequency serving specific areas.

Store the frequencies of up to 30 stations: 10 FM, 10 AM and 10 Weather

Press to turn the tuner on and change the band.

Each time the button is pressed

Press to display “ ”.

Listening to preset stations

1 Perform steps and (left).

2 Press to select the memory number.

• Press and hold to make the numbers change rapidly.

Adjust the volume by turning this control toward

 

“+” or “-”.

Store stations in the memory as desired.

until the frequency number or the channel number

Do each of the following within 10 seconds.

When the original display is restored, proceed from step 1.

2 Press to tune to a station.

3 Press .

4 Press to select the memory number.

• Press and hold to make the numbers change rapidly.

5 Press .

The band number and frequency are set.

To store another station in the memory, repeat steps 1 to 5.

Setting the time

Example: Set to 3:30 PM (15:30) ( “- - : - - ” is displayed before the time has been set.)

Press and hold

until the hour display flashes.

Press to set the hour.

• Press and hold to make the numbers change rapidly.

Press .

Press to set the minutes.

• Press and hold to make the numbers change rapidly.

Press .

The time starts.

Note

We recommend adjusting the time regularly to maintain accuracy. (Monthly accuracy ±60 seconds)

When you play a CD or the radio, the display changes but the time is displayed again after about 10 seconds.
