The FS-5 provides the ability to simultaneously control the Record and Stop functions of multiple FS-5s located on the same network.

Begin by linking the host FS-5 to the client units:

1.Begin by mounting at least two FS-5 2.0 units on a network.

2.Select one of the FS-5s to be the host.

3.Log on to the host and go to its Entry page.

4.Select the metadata template to use from the Default Template dropdown list.

5.Click the ADD button.

The Link Units workspace expands to show the link parameters for the first client FS-5.

Notice that the Template option is permanently check-marked. Any time the host FS-5 links to another unit, it transfers the currently selected template to the client, regardless if the other link options are selected or not.

For information about Template and Log functions, see Logging Metadata to Multiple 2.0 FS-5son page 38.

6.Enter the IP address for the client FS-5.

7.Check-mark Log if the host unit is to log metadata on the client unit. Then any metadata entered on the host appears on the cli- ent too.

8.Check-mark Control.

The host unit can control the Record and Pause operations on the client unit.
