*Remove the battery from the charger and use a pencil eraser to clean the four metal contacts on the bottom of the battery. Place the battery back in the charger. If the LED indicator continues to flash red, replace the bat- tery.

Battery Charge Status
You can check battery charge status by holding down the preprogrammed Battery Gauge button (see page 6). The charge status is shown by the color of the radio’s LED indicator.
