CHARGING AND USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

If the batteries become too weak the battery level indicator begins to flash

and operation may become erratic. When this occurs recharge the batteries immediately.

Rechargeable Battery Operation

This unit can fully recharge Ni-MH rechargeable batteries in approximately 15 hours. Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (included) should be recharged before they are used for the first time, if they are low in power or if they have not been used for a long period (over 60 days).

1.) Open the battery compartment cover and insert two of the supplied Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (1.2V 1100mA), observe the polarity.

2.) Connect AC adapter small plug to the DC input jack and the other end to a 120V 60Hz AC outlet. (See diagram on page 6.)

3.) Set the CHARGE Switch (inside CD compartment) to ‘ON’position to start charging. The CHR (Charge) indicator lights.

4.) After 15 hours, please unplug the AC adapter and switch the CHARGE switch to the ‘OFF’position.

5.) If the operating time decreases dramatically even when the Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are properly recharged, purchase a new set of Ni-MH rechargeable batteries.

6.) When charging for the first time or after a long time, playing time may be reduced. In this case, charge and discharge the batteries several times.

Notes:

Both batteries must be Rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride type.

Do not charge continously for 24 hours or more. Doing so can cause the performance of the batteries deteriorate.

Use only the supplied adapter for charging.
