Playing a DVD or Video CD (continued)

Still Picture and Frame-by-Frame Playback

DVD Video VR VCD

1Press PAUSE/STEP (X) during playback. The recorder will now go into PAUSE mode.

2You can advance or back up the picture frame-by- frame by pressing b/B repeatedly during PAUSE mode.

ote

Frame-by-frame reverse playback is not available on Video CDs.

Search DVD Video VR VCD

1Press BACKWARD (m) or FORWARD (M) during playback.

The recorder will now go into SEARCH mode.

2Press BACKWARD or FORWARD to select the required speed: mX2, mX4, mX8, mX16, mX100, n (backward) or MX2, MX4, MX8, MX16, MX100, N (forward).

With a Video CD, the Search speed changes to: mX2, mX4, mX8 (backward) or MX2, MX4, MX8 (forward).

3To exit SEARCH mode, press PLAY (N).

ote

When you press BACKWARD or FORWARD during Search mode to go to normal speed, search mode is canceled.

Random Karaoke DVD VCD

1Press RANDOM during playback or in Stop mode. The unit automatically begins Random Playback and “RANDOM” appears on the TV screen.

2To return to normal playback, press RANDOM until “NORMAL” appears on the TV screen.

By pressing SKIP (>) during Random playback, the VCR/DVD Recorder selects another title (track) and resumes Random playback.

This function only works with DVD Karaoke discs or video CDs without PBC.

On a Video CD with PBC, you must set PBC to OFF in the DISC menu to use the Random function. See page 25.

DVD Video Discs - Repeat Chapter/Title/Off

1To repeat the currently playing chapter, press

REPEAT.

The REPEAT CHAPTER appears on the TV screen.

2To repeat the title currently playing, press REPEAT a second time.

The REPEAT TITLE appears on the TV screen.

3To exit Repeat mode, press REPEAT a third time.

The REPEAT OFF icon appears on the TV screen.

Video CDs - Repeat Track/All/Off

1To repeat the track currently playing, press REPEAT.

The REPEAT TRACK icon appears on the TV screen.

2To repeat the disc currently playing, press REPEAT a second time.

The REPEAT ALL icon appears on the TV screen.

3To exit Repeat mode, press REPEAT a third time.

The REPEAT OFF icon appears on the TV screen.

On a Video CD with PBC, you must set PBC to OFF in the DISC menu to use the Repeat function. See page 25.

To repeat a sequence in a title:

1Press A-B at your chosen starting point.

REPEAT A- appears on the TV screen.

2Press A-B again at your chosen end point.

REPEAT A-B appears briefly on the TV screen, and the repeat sequence begins.

3To cancel the sequence, press A-B repeatedly to select REPEAT OFF.
