Display Brightness Control

This SmartSet® Clock Radio features a unique display brightness control system that gives you three convenient options:

HIGH – when the DIMMER switch is set to the “HIGH” position the clock display is always at full brightness. The DIMMER switch was set to the “HIGH” position at our factory.

LOW – when the DIMMER switch is set to the “LOW” position the display brightness is reduced by approximately 50%.

OFF/WAVE– when the DIMMER switch is set to the “OFF/WAVE” position the display goes ‘Off’completely. This is designed for people who prefer to sleep in total darkness. However if you want to see the clock display at any time, slowly wave your hand in front of the WAVE SENSOR on the front panel. The clock display will immediately return to full brightness for 10 seconds and then shut off again automatically. The effective operating range of the Wave Sensor is approximately “12 in” to “36 in” from the front panel.
