Battery Back-Up

This clock radio features an optional battery back-up to retain the correct time setting in the event of a power failure or when disconnected temporarily from an outlet. The clock display will not be lit and the radio/alarm functions will not operate while the power is interrupted however, the time and alarm settings will be maintained in memory. Once power is restored, the display will show the correct time and the radio and alarm functions will operate normally.

To prevent leakage and possible damage to the unit, the battery should be replaced when it no longer retains the time during a power failure (the clock display will flash to indicate that the time needs to be reset).

1.Remove the battery cover on the bottom of the clock radio.

2.Connect a fresh alkaline 9-volt (006P) battery (not included) to the terminals inside the battery compartment.

3.Replace the battery cover and set the time as described in “How to Set the Clock.”
