Lubrication

CAUTION

Lathe must￿be serviced at all lubrication points and all reservoirs filled to operating level before the lathe is put into service!

Failure to comply may cause serious

damage to the lathe!

1. Headstock - Oil must be up to indicator mark in oil sight glass (A, Fig. 3). Top off with Mobil DTEOil Heavy Medium. Fill by pulling plug (D, Fig. 3). To drain, remove drain plug (A, Fig. 4) with an 8mm hex wrench. Drain oil completely and refill after the first month of operation. Clean out any metal shavings. Then, change oil in the headstock annually.

2. Gearbox - Oil must be up to indicator mark in oil sight glass (B, Fig. 3). Top off with Mobil DTEOil Heavy Medium. Fill by lifting off thread chart cover (E, Fig. 3) and remove plug (C, Fig. 3) with an 8mm hex wrench. To drain, remove drain plug (A, Fig. 5) with an 8mm hex wrench. Drain oil completely and refill after the first month of operation. Then, change oil in the Gearbox annually.
