Shutdown and General Care
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury whenever you are instructed to relieve pressure, always follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 8.
DAlways relieve the pressure when you shut down the pump.
DIf you are pumping fluid that dries or sets up, flush with a compatible solvent as often as necessary to prevent buildup in the pump and hoses.
DAfter every 40 hours of operation, adjust the pack- ing nut (42) as described on page 11.
Flushing
WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury whenever you are instructed to relieve pressure, always follow the Pressure Relief Procedure on page 8.
1.To reduce the risk of skin injection, static sparking or splashing, Relieve the Pressure before flush- ing.
2.Remove the spray tip.
3.Hold a metal part of the gun firmly to the side of a grounded metal pail. Use the lowest possible fluid pressure when flushing.
Lubrication
The accessory air line lubricator (G) provides automat- ic air motor lubrication. For daily, manual lubrication follow this procedure:
1.Disconnect the regulator.
2.Place about 15 drops of light machine oil in the pump air inlet.
3.Reconnect the regulator.
4.Turn on the air supply to blow oil into the motor.
