MAINTENANCE

TIGHTENING THE CHUCK

See Figures 14 - 15.

The chuck may become loose on the spindle and begin to shake when using the drill. Also, the chuck screw may become loose causing the chuck jaws to bind and prevent them from closing.

nLock the trigger switch by placing the rotation selector in center position.

nOpen the chuck jaws.

nInsert the hex key wrench into the chuck and tighten the chuck jaws securely.

nTap the hex key wrench sharply with a mallet in a clockwise direction. This will tighten chuck on the spindle.

nOpen the chuck jaws and remove the hex key wrench.

nTighten the chuck screw.

NOTE: The chuck screw has left-handed threads.

To obtain the longest possible battery life, we suggest the following:

nRemove the battery pack from the charger once it is fully charged and ready for use.

For battery storage longer than 30 days:

nStore the battery pack where the temperature is below 80°F.

nStore battery packs in a "discharged" condition.
