ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES F0R ROTARY TOOLS

ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION WHEN USING THIS TOOL!

If accessory jams, turn tool off and disconnect from power supply before freeing accessory from the jam.

Hold tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the tool “live” and shock the operator.

When using cutoff wheels always have the work securely clamped. Never attempt to hold the work with one hand while using any cutting accessory.

Keep hands away from rotating accessories.

Allow accessories and collets to cool before touching with bare hands. They will be hot after using.

Insure there are no foreign objects in the workpiece such as nails which if hit could cause loss of control of unit.

Always feed the cutter into the material in the same direction as the chips are being thrown. Feeding the tool in the wrong direction can cause loss of control.

Keep handles dry, clean, free from oil and grease. This will enable better control of the tool.

When cutting wood, extra care should be taken to avoid inhalation and minimize skin contact.

Wear ear protection. Noise level may be amplified when using tool in enclosed spaces.

The RTX has an internal speed control, never use an external speed control on this unit.

Do not use worn accessories.

Do not use grinding wheels that have cracks.

When turning tool on, hold it away from your face, since a damaged accessory could come apart.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Double Insulated tools are equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install a polarized outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. Double Insulation eliminates the need for the three wire grounded power cord and grounded power supply system.

Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.

Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the tools or pull the plug from an outlet. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords increase the risk of electric shock.

When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor extension cord marked "W-A" or "W". These cords are rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock.

Black & Decker RTX-B and RTX-6 are two standout models in the power tool segment, designed for both professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts alike. Their versatility and robust performance make them essential tools for a range of applications, from sanding and cutting to engraving and grinding.

The RTX-B model is particularly renowned for its powerful 2.0-amp motor, which provides ample torque for tackling tough materials with ease. This tool features a variable speed dial, allowing users to adjust the rotational speed from 10,000 to 30,000 RPM. This range of speed settings makes it ideal for various tasks, whether it's delicate engraving on wood or aggressive sanding on metal surfaces. Moreover, its lightweight design means users can operate it comfortably for extended periods.

One of the highlights of the RTX-B is its quick-change accessory system that allows for seamless swapping of attachments without the need for additional tools. This is particularly useful in fast-paced environments where efficiency is key. The tool is also designed with a soft-grip handle for added comfort and control, reducing hand fatigue over time and ensuring precision in every operation.

On the other hand, the RTX-6 model is a more advanced version that brings additional features to the table. It is equipped with a 6-speed variable control system, ranging from 10,000 to an impressive 35,000 RPM. This enhanced range offers even more flexibility for intricate work or heavy-duty applications. The basic design philosophy remains the same, with a focus on versatility and user-friendly features.

One of the significant advancements in the RTX-6 is its integrated dust management system, which helps keep the workspace clean and enhances visibility during detailed tasks. Additionally, it boasts a multi-grip design, allowing users to hold the tool in different positions, thereby increasing comfort for long sessions.

Both models come equipped with a comprehensive array of attachments that cater to various crafting needs, including sanding pads, cutting wheels, and engraving bits. They are compatible with a wide variety of Dremel-style accessories, showcasing their adaptability.
