The HP 33120A Function Generator User’s Guide contains complete descriptions of these procedures. The general procedure to set the interface is:

ITurn on the function generator menu.

A: MOD MENU

LMove across to the I/O Menu.

E:I/O MENU

MMove down and across to the Interface command.

2: INTERFACE

NMove down to select HP-IB or RS-232 interface parameters. If choosing RS-232, you must also check the baud rate and parity commands in the I/O Menu. The baud rate default is 9600; the parity default is none with 8 data bits.
