IMPORTANT: Total amount of configured storage on the VSA for Hyper-V cannot exceed 10 TB

 

or virtual RAID will fail.

1.Begin the installer one of the following ways:

Unzip the files if you downloaded a .zip file, and then double-click the executable to start the installation.

Double-click the downloaded executable to start the installation.

Insert the DVD in the DVD drive (either the physical HP StoreVirtual VSA and Failover Manager DVD you received or the DVD you created after downloading the DVD .iso image from the web).

2.Accept the terms of the License Agreement.

3.Configure the parameters of the virtual machine on the network, including the hard drives. See Table 5 (page 12).

NOTE: You can run the wizard again to configure another VSA for Hyper-V using the same parameters as appropriate.

4.Finish the installation, reviewing the configuration summary.

When the installer is finished, the VSA for Hyper-V is ready to be used in HP StoreVirtual Storage.

5.Next, install the CMC, described in “Getting started with HP StoreVirtual Storage” (page 14). Then follow the steps in “Installing the CMC” (page 14).

The installer may take a few minutes to complete, depending upon the underlying hardware.

Troubleshooting

Problem

While installing the VSA for Hyper-V, you do not see the physical disks you prepared.

Solution

1.Close the installer.

2.Verify that the disks are offline.

3.Start the installer again.
