Viewing the alert log

The alert log resides on the server, and records information such as alerts raised, about the server.

After connecting to the host (server), you can display a snapshot of the log information by clicking on Logs then the Alert Log tab.

The server can have single or multiple alert log files, depending upon the policy. If the server has more than one alert log file, then a drop down box is displayed from which you select the required log file.

The alert information is displayed in the Details View. Up to 25 alerts can be displayed in a set.

Figure 2-4shows the alert log.
