1. Introduction
This Whitepaper provides guidelines on how to install and configure HP OpenView Storage Data Protector for backup/restore in HP ServiceGuard cluster of Linux systems. The versions of HP OpenView Storage Data Protector addressed in this document are A.05.10 and A.05.50. (DP 5.1 and DP 5.5)
The main objective of this document is to provide an overview of the procedure for performing backup and restore operations using the HP OpenView Storage Data Protector in HP ServiceGuard cluster of Linux systems. It also describes the concepts involved in carrying out backup and restore operations in the cluster using HP OpenView Storage Data Protector.
The Whitepaper begins with an overview of HP ServiceGuard cluster. Then it covers the installation of HP OpenView Storage Data Protector in HP ServiceGuard cluster. The next section explains the procedure for configuring Data Protector in HP ServiceGuard cluster. The concluding section provides directions on backup/restore of the shared data in the cluster.
