5.9Volume Board

✎The volume board removal procedures in this section apply to Compaq Presario R4000 models.

Volume Board Spare Part Number Information

Volume board (includes volume board cable; for use only on	383912-001
Compaq Presario R4000 models)

1.Prepare the notebook for disassembly (Section 5.3).

2.Remove the keyboard cover (Section 5.8).

3.Remove the two PM2.0×4.0 screws 1 that secure the volume board to the keyboard cover.

4.Remove the volume board 2.

Removing the Volume Board

Reverse the above procedure to install the volume board.
