INTRODUCTION

Thank you for your purchase of the Bellari VP530 Tube Phono Preamp. The VP530 is designed to amplify an RIAA equalized phono signal to a Hi-Fi level signal, and is intended for magnetic pickups. Since the unit utilizes tube circuitry, the resulting output signal is more warm and musical than solid state preamplifiers.

INSPECTION

1. Unpack and Inspect the VP530 package

Your VP530 was carefully packed at the factory in a protective carton. Nonetheless, be sure to examine the unit and the carton for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. If obvious physical damage is noticed, contact the carrier immediately to make a damage claim. We suggest saving the shipping carton and packing materials for safely transporting the unit in the future.

DESCRIPTION

GROUND CONNECTOR: Connects to the Ground of the phonograph.

INPUT: Stereo RCA jacks for connection to the phonograph.

OUTPUT: Stereo RCA jacks for connection to a stereo system or ampli- fier.

STEREO HEADPHONE/LINE OUTPUT: 1/4" Tip-Ring-Sleeve jack for con- nection to any standard pair of headphones or earphones.

PWR INPUT: ROLLS PSU115 15V DC 700mA.

RUMBLE FILTER: High pass filter - eliminates frequencies under 20Hz.

MUTE: When pressed in - mutes the RCA outputs. The Headphone Out- put will still have signal present.

FLAT/RIAA: Switches from an RIAA EQ'ed output to a FLAT output.

OUTPUT LEVEL: Adjusts the amount of signal to the RCA Outputs.

HEADPHONE LEVEL: Adjusts the amount of signal to the Headphone/ Line Output.

USB: USB output for connection to a computer or other usb device input.

IMPORTANT USB NOTE:

When connecting the USB, your computer should recognize the connection. We offer no support for using or setting up the USB, or interfacing with applications. Please contact your dealer regarding these issues.

CONNECTION/OPERATION

Connect your turntable to the VP530 as shown. The Outputs may be connected to an amplifier, recording device such as a cassette recorder or computer sound-card, or a tuner Aux input. Only use a Tip-Ring- Sleeve stereo plug in the Headphone Output. CONNECTING A MONO PLUG IN THIS JACK MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE VP530.

Connect the PSU115 to the unit and an AC outlet or power strip.

Play a record on the turntable and adjust the Output Level and Head- phone Level controls to the desired amounts.

Switch in the Rumble Filter to eliminate very low frequencies if needed. Press in the Mute switch when you wish to mute the RCA outputs of the VP530 (the Headphone Output will still be active).

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:

First of all - turntables and tube equipment have a certain level of noise. That's why the two technologies are essentially obsolete.

The VP530 is intended for use with Moving Magnet cartridges, not Moving Coil. While a Moving Coil cartridge will work, you will be re- quired to turn up the volume of the unit as well as your receiver/ampli- fier causing an increase in noise.
