3 Click AVG, and then click AVG Test Center.

4Click the Check for Updates button to get the latest AVG updates, which keep your computer protected.

Manually running a system scan

To scan all hard drives on your computer for viruses and security risks:

1Double-click the AVG icon on the desktop. Or

Click the Windows Start Button on the taskbar, All Programs, AVG, and then click AVG Test Center.

2Click the Scan Computer button. Depending on the number of files on your computer, this may take several minutes. If a virus is found, AVG removes it or provides instructions for removal.

3When the scan is complete, click Close. AVG lists any security risks or viruses found in the Security status window.

Scheduling a full system scan time

To set up the time for a full system scan:

1Click the Windows Start Button on the taskbar, All Programs, AVG, and then click AVG Control Center.

2Select Scheduler from the Security status window.

3Double-click the Scheduled Tasks button.

4Click New Schedule.

5Click the Task tab.

6Type a name for your scan in the Name window.
