HEAT Thermostat controls heating system.

OFF Both heating and cooling systems are off.

COOL Thermostat controls cooling system.

AUTO The thermostat switches the system from the heat- ing mode to the cooling mode based on temperature.

EM HEAT Heat pump systems only −− Thermostat controls emergency heat and auxiliary heat, if needed. Heat pump com- pressor is not operational.
