12.7.1My Location

Use wireless networks

Mark the check box to use information from Wi-Fi and mobile networks to determine your approximate location, for use in Google Maps, when you search, and so on.When you select this option, you’re asked whether you consent to sharing your location anonymously with Google’s location service.

Use GPS satellites

Check to use your phone’s global positioning system (GPS) satellite receiver to pinpoint your location within an accuracy as close as several meters (“street level”). The process of accessing the GPS satellite and setting your phone's precise location for the first time will require up to 5 minutes. You will need to stand in a place with a clear view of the sky and avoid moving. After this, GPS will only need 20-40 seconds to identify your precise location.

GPS EPO assistance

Check to enable EPO (Extended Prediction Orbit) assistance. EPO is one of the off-line server based A-GPS technologies. It supports up to 30 days satellite orbit prediction, which can be used to greatly improve user experience by speeding up GPS Time To First Fix (TTFF).

EPO settings

•Auto download Mark the check box to permit applications to download data according to their own schedule.

•EPO file info Check download time, start time and expiry time for satellite position data.

Touch Download at the bottom of the screen to download satellite position data manually.

A-GPS/A-GPS settings

Check to enable A-GPS (assisted GPS), which improves the startup performance, or time-to-first-fix (TTFF) of a GPS satellite-based positioning system.

•Disable after Select to disable A-GPS capability after reboot. reboot

•Network request Select to allow network to request position.

•Profile selector Select a profile selector.

•Mobile network Check data connection status.
